Flanked by an immense rock face and facing a sublimely beautiful bay, Rivière-Éternité is located in the most impressive part of the fjord. You’re sure to enjoy hearing the legend of the statue of Notre-Dame-de-Saguenay that looks down over the waters from the mountain. Also, treat yourself to an outing in the superb national park, or climb aboard a cruise to better admire the fjord!

Chicoutimi (City of Saguenay)

212 km/132 miles

Once at your destination, you’ll remark on the warmth and friendliness of the people who call the City of Saguenay home. Not only is Chicoutimi located in an uncommonly beautiful setting, it also offers up a whole range of activities, each more compelling than the last. Of course, the region’s main attraction is clearly the Saguenay Fjord! Chicoutimi is your gateway to the “route du fjord,” the road that runs alongside this natural wonder. Your voyage of discovery starts with 172 or Route 372 East, located on either side of the waterway, both of which lead to Parc national du Saguenay. Depending on your route, you’ll cross either L’Anse-Saint-Jean or Sainte-Rose-du-Nord: two villages considered among Québec’s most beautiful. Have a great visit!
