Pointe-à-Callière, musée d’archéologie et d’histoire de Montréal More details...
A national historic site, Pointe-à-Callière, the Montréal Museum of Archeology and History, marks the birthplace of Montréal. Built on top of architectural remains, the museum offers visitors an authentic archeological tour. Tracing the site’s history from its Native American inhabitants in the 14th century to the bustling metropolis of today, the museum houses numerous treasures, including Amerindian artifacts, the first Roman Catholic cemetery, and the first market place. High-tech equipment and a multimedia projection above the ruins offer visitors a vivid experience of times past. This summer, don’t miss the exhibition “First Nations, French Royal Collections,” from June 5 to October 14.
